Google is considered the world’s largest search engine because it’s fast, accurate and easy to use, and has become one of the world’s best known brands. It organizes the world’s information so as to make it accessible and useful for everyone, delivering relevant results in a fraction of a second.
The site has a neat and somehow “minimal” design that makes it clear and very easy to know how to use it. Some people may think it’s too basic or that it lacks of design, but the main purpose is give users little to distract when searching for information. Search results are divided from advertising, acknowledged as “sponsored links.” Google allows you to customize everything from the language to the layout of the result pages. You can search for images, videos, news, multiple file types, and pages in French or Spanish, phone numbers, airline flight info or categories in the Open Directory. If you take a look at the preferences page, you’ll be able to select the number of results returned and filter out adult content, among many other customizable features.
