The search engine formerly known as XGoogle, rebaptized as Gogloom, allows users to search for free chat rooms based on any particular interest, like origin, language or topic. Using the site is of course free, and very easy too, as all you have to do is type the keyword you are after, and then you’ll get a results page listing all the matching chat rooms; you’re now just a click away from meeting people or getting help to solve whatever tech problem you got stuck into, as typing in a screen name will allow you to chat directly from the browser without having to log in to the specific site the chat room belongs to (you need to have JAVA enabled, though).
Interestingly, some of the largest chat platforms like mIRC, eMule, WoW and Ubuntu are listed so that you can browse the rooms directly. If you are very into chatting and belong to the happy minority of Firefox users, you can also get a plugin for your browser to search directly without having to go over to the Gogloom.com site.
