GeoPollster.com – An App That Politicizes Foursquare

GeoPollster.comIf we judge how good an app is based on how much people will talk about it, Geo Pollster is an excellent app bar none. What it does is to cross politics with Foursquare, and let people who have checked-in at any specific venue show their allegiance to this or that party.

That is, users specify what party they are aligned with upon first installing the app, and each single time they check-in from that point onwards their votes will be tallied.

The main page includes a giant map showing which party has got more supporters in each State. Individual venues are listed underneath it, with the “recent election results” letting you know who has seized control of what.

Venues are arranged by categories such as “Gas Stations”, “Post Offices”, “Steakhouses”… and a couple of infographs make everything even more understandable (and by extension debatable) with all your friends and cronies. And an infographic showing which party has got more badges is likewise included to add more fuel to the fire.
