The Gemini Mobile App recently introduced a file upload feature through an update in its Advanced Package. This novel innovation allows users to upload required files directly via the mobile app. The updated feature signifies Gemini’s dedication to providing a smooth and efficient mobile user experience.

The recent integration of the file upload feature into Gemini’s Advanced Package offers higher functionality and improved efficiency. Therefore, users can expect continuous enhancements and refined features as part of Gemini’s commitment to a superior user experience.

Android users now have three unique paths for file uploads: direct upload, upload from the gallery, and uploading from Google Drive. Each option offers its distinct advantages, whether users are dealing with a single file, images or videos from their gallery, or files from Google Drive.

However, the iOS version of the app does not feature the ‘Upload from Drive’ option.

Enhancing user experience: Gemini app’s file upload feature

This change maintains consistency with the previously available web interface features and simplifies the mobile app experience while possibly reducing confusion among users.

The updated feature supports a variety of file types including text files (TXT), document files (e.g., DOC, PDF), Google Docs-created files, Tabular data files (CSV, TSV), and Spreadsheet files (XLS, XLSX) created in Google Sheets. Additionally, image files like JPEG, PNG, GIFs, and audio files as MP3 and WAV can be uploaded. Various video files and archived file types are also supported.

However, it’s crucial to note that the new upload feature allows a maximum of ten files to be uploaded at once, with an individual file size limit of 100MB. Exceeding these constraints may cause issues or failed uploads.

Finally, the 1.5 Pro version of Gemini Advanced, now inclusive of file upload capabilities, is rolling out to Android and iOS platforms, with future plans to expand it to other platforms. Subscribers can expect substantially enhanced user experiences, being able to upload files directly from their mobile devices. Also, Gemini Advanced’s support team is always ready to assist with any arising issues during the file uploading process.
