Garmin has launched the Approach R50, a new all-in-one launch monitor and golf simulator. The device features a three-camera system that tracks over 15 ball and club data points. It also records high-speed impact videos.
The R50 has a 10-inch built-in touchscreen display that shows all the data. It can connect to an external screen via HDMI. This allows it to display both the data and enhanced course maps from Home Tee Hero, which cover over 43,000 courses.
Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales, said, “Leveraging our most advanced technology with an elaborate three-camera system, our Approach R50 can provide golfers of all levels with the cutting-edge metrics and analytics they need to help improve their game.”
The R50 lets golfers play rounds on more than 43,000 courses through the Home Tee Hero simulator.

They can also join weekly tournament rounds.
In addition to Home Tee Hero, the R50 supports third-party simulators such as GSPro, E6 Connect (coming soon), and Awesome Golf. Golfers can connect the Approach R50 to a monitor or projector for a fully immersive virtual course experience. The device also includes a training mode that records sessions and saves stats for each club.
This allows players to track their progress over time. The Approach R50 can be used both indoors and outdoors. It offers up to four hours of battery life.
The device is available on Garmin’s website for $4,999.99.
