Powered by Wordpress, FutilityCloset.com is the must-visit blog for all the members of the bookish crowd out there.
Setting aside the content bit, which I’ll deal with later, this site deserves unending praise for its minimalism and de-clutter policy, as an increasing number of blogs are being victims of a viral fever over contextual ads of the meanest types, not to mention the fact that the blogosphere seems to have been invaded by cruel flashy and moving widgets, an invasion which is close to ruin out sight (and sense of good taste) for good. That being said, note that this site is nothing but what its tagline announces: “An idler’s miscellany of compendious amusements”, a random collection of witty and strangely odd phrases, quotes and syllogisms from mainly English poets and philosophers, plus puzzles and images of the most diverse origins. This blog gets updated several times a day, and since all the posts are quite brief (usually not more than 100 words, but frequently only 25), you don’t need to spend too much time reading them, though they will prove definitely very illuminating, and a great thing to talk about over dinner parties.
