Keith Towles and Mashelle Towles shifted from the construction industry to the craft beer sector, establishing a business that has expanded to incorporate 5 company-owned and 14 franchised locations since its inception in 2005.
The couple broke from the conventional microbrewery model to set up in Fort Myers, Florida, where they source their food locally and import beer from their Meadville, Pennsylvania brewery. This unconventional path has proven successful, resulting in a unique and high-quality craft beer experience for their customers.
The Towles’ Brewpub serves a diverse menu complemented with 24 different draft beers, seven of which are guest taps predominantly sourced from local microbreweries. This extensive offering caters to a wide range of customer tastes, offering both their own brews and a curated selection from the local beer scene.
To elevate the convenience level for customers, the establishment implemented an innovative QR code ordering system.
Transitioning to Thriving: Towles’ Craft Beer Journey
This modern approach streamlines the customer dining experience whilst employing about 30 dedicated staff members, including an in-house chef, who adds a personal touch to each dish.
A strong sense of community is paramount for the Towles, who foster an open culture where customers are encouraged to write on the establishment’s walls. The owners plan to host local events and fundraisers in the future, reinforcing their dedication to creating a hub for social gatherings.
Initially a Bank of America site and later a wellness studio, the Brewpub now aims to attract more visitors through their diverse offerings compared to other local establishments. Encouraged by overwhelmingly positive feedback thus far, they also credit the Kearns Restaurant Group for their significant role in revitalizing the downtown dining scene.
