H, the AI startup founded by former Google employees, has launched its first product called Runner H. The product is designed to assist businesses and developers with tasks like quality assurance and process automation. Runner H is built on H’s proprietary “compact” LLM, which uses just 2 billion parameters.

This aims to provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution compared to other AI models. CEO Charles Kantor revealed that the company has set up a waitlist for Runner H on its website. They plan to release APIs to those on the list soon.

These APIs will allow users to access pre-built agents developed by H and enable developers to create their own. There will also be access to H-Studio, a platform to test and manage these services. Initially, the APIs will be free, with a payment model to be introduced later.

Runner H highlights initial product focus

Developing and running AI remains expensive, especially as competitors continue to raise significant funds for their own products. H has been working with a select group of customers from industries such as e-commerce, banking, insurance, and outsourcing.

They have used customer feedback to refine the product. Runner H will focus on three main use cases at first: robotic process automation (RPA), quality assurance, and business process outsourcing (BPO). RPA involves automating repetitive tasks, while quality assurance will aim to reduce the maintenance burdens of website testing.

BPO applications will include improving billing processes and speeding up data access for agents. H claims that its compact model outperforms competitors like Anthropic, Mistral, and Meta in terms of efficiency and performance. The launch of Runner H is a significant milestone for H.

It reflects the company’s ongoing evolution and commitment to shaping the future of AI in practical and innovative ways.
