Friends of the Earth is an organization of activists that fight for a healthy and just world. Over the last 39 years FOE has been involved in drawing attention to new environmental problems, pressing for regulations of strip mines and oil tankers, advocating the reform of the World Bank on human rights and environmental concerns, and more.
The organization, led by Brent Blackwelder, is dedicated to fighting to protect the rights of people all around the world to live in a healthy and safe environment. The organization’s campaigns demonstrate the belief that the fight for justice and the movement to protect the health of the planet are part of the same struggle. FOE is involved in many different projects including regulation, legislation, trade, and international finance by the government and industry, global warming and the challenges and opportunities surrounding climate change, energy and the way we power our communities today and in the future, fighting against pollution and the exploitation of the eco system, transportation issues, and human health issues.
