FilePhle is a secure cross-platform file transfer application with automatic NAT-traversal, professional-grade automatic encryption, and drag and drop simplicity. It’s currently in beta, and users who sign up during the beta test period will get one year for free.
After the beta period, new users will get a one week trial and it costs only $14.95/year.
Why FilePhile It Might Be A Killer
There are hundreds of web-based file upload and hosting services around the net. FilePhile is very different. FilePhile works like an IM client and allows unlimited encrypted file transfers of unlimited size. None of the web-based services can truly say “unlimited size” like we can, and there’s a lot more.
But the real differences are under the hood: FilePhile is based on a sophisticated NAT-traversing “scatter-gather” UDP-based file transfer protocol that incorporates professional-grade end-to-end encryption and NAT-busting techniques that allow FilePhile to work almost anywhere. Beyond that, FilePhile transfers auto-resume after program restart or computer sleep/wake, a feature not available with HTTP upload, and its automatic encryption feature makes it suitable for trade secrets and HIPAA compliance in health-care.
All the innovation under the hood is also why we can charge so little. All the competitors we’ve been able to find require you to upload your file to a web site. They have high costs due to the need to actually store and host all that, while we’ve developed a solution that cracks the NAT problem and bypasses the need for all that. We just provide a buddy list and rendezvous server (for NAT traversal), allowing us to offer a far more sophisticated solution at a far lower price.
The goal of FilePhile is to solve the person-to-person file transfer problem thoroughly, securely, and at a very low cost.
