The Environmental Literacy Council is an non-profit organization who helps teacher to help their students to develop environmental literacy, by raising awareness of the systems of the world, both living and non-living, together with other skills in order to understand and compare scientific evidence and policy choices. They only rely on individual donations so as to keep providing free materials to the general public.
At EnviroLiteracy.org you will find a lot of information on many subjects of interest. For instance: air and climate, land, water, ecosystems, energy, food, and environment and society. Apart from these, they provide articles on other topics such as the Environment Day, agriculture as a way of practicing environmental economics, the climate, and much more. Additionally, there are three other links providing material: for teachers, for students and Council News. You can also take a geography quiz to test how much you know, and have a little fun at the same time!
