The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America resulted from a union of three North American Lutheran church bodies: The American Lutheran Church, the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, and the Lutheran Church in America. They formed a 70-member Commission for a New Lutheran Church.
The ELCA meets in assembly every two years. At the site you will find ELCA news, a welcome center, a spiritual center, news & events, resources, church wide units, leaders, youth, quick links, and weekly features. The site also allows you to locate a church near you, talk with others, make a gift, and provides hot topics, directories, and ELCA books & gifts.
