DropTom.com – Tom, We Love You, But Good Riddance

DropTom.comLove him or hate him Tom is here to stay. Or is he? Although he is the founder of the ridiculously popular MySpace, Tom has apparently out stayed his welcome.

At least that seems to be the opinion of DropTom, an internet lobby group looking to toss Tom out of that coveted first friend space. They propose to let Myspacers themselves vote for a fresh face. It could be you or (more likely) it could be some curvaceous blonde chick. Tom, doesn’t necessarily have to dropped, totally; DT simply wants someone else to carry the torch, right beside Tom perhaps. Will MySpace go along with it? Maybe not, but DropTom’s willing to shell out $1,000 to the winner. The coup de grace, if you weren’t interested before, that grand should convince you otherwise. So, to be considered you’ve got to add your profile to the DropTom movement. Then put the DT badge on your Myspace page and/or blog so all your friends will vote for you. You can only vote once a day from one computer. If you’re really craving votes you can pay $1 a day to be a featured member.

DropTom.com In Their Own Words

“DropTom.com is trying to get as many MySpace users together to give everyone a new friend while dropping Tom…and that friend could be you! (that is, if MySpace goes for it…) It’s not that we dislike Tom. We appreciate the fact that he helped to create one of the largest social forums in the world. He is only doing his job.
What if, though, we could change that first friend to everyone? What if it could be somebody new? Somebody not with MySpace? What if it could be you? It’s time for a change. We all secretly want to see it. Tom is famous for what he’s done and who he is. A few other people have become MySpace famous as well. Imagine the notice you’d get if you became the new face of MySpace… It would be crazy.”

Why DropTom.com It Might Be A Killer

It’s true that Tom has gotten old. Everyone’s tired of his face. MySpace is, after all, a community driven site, it’s about time the community should get to decide on a new friend. Change is good. So is a grand in cash.
