The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has partnered with Stride Ventures to support the global expansion of Indian startups. The collaboration aims to provide financial backing, strategic mentorship, and market access to entrepreneurs across the country. Sanjiv, Joint Secretary in DPIIT, said, “We will design dedicated programs and team up on various engagements, including the Bharat Grand Challenge, to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment.” These efforts align with the government’s Make in India and Make for the World initiatives, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing, consumer, business-to-business, and cleantech.

Ishpreet Singh Gandhi, Founder and Managing Partner of Stride Ventures, welcomed the partnership as a major step toward empowering businesses that “Make in India” for global markets. He emphasized his firm’s billion-dollar commitment to nurturing startups and strengthening India’s startup ecosystem.

DPIIT collaborates for startup expansion

Stride Ventures will focus on identifying startups with significant growth potential and offer funding, policy support, and market access. The partnership also aims to support global startups looking to enter the Indian market, benefiting both local and international companies. The initiative will include targeted guidance and mentorship for startups based in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, as well as connections to a global network of mentors who can advise on best practices and pathways to scale.

Various fundraising options, including venture debt, will be highlighted to help emerging businesses chart the right course for growth. The collaboration between DPIIT and Stride Ventures is expected to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, strengthen India’s startup ecosystem, and contribute to the country’s larger economic agenda of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.
