A no-frills, no fancy stuff website to read about the movies you can actually find in your local video store, DigitallyObsessed.com is one of those sites which are so useful in their sheer simplicity you won’t believe you could live without it after you’ve tried it.
The site posts reviews mainly of movies (some music CDs get reviewed as well) written by the site’s staff, presenting usually a summary of the plot and general considerations on the performances, directors and awards won by the film, information on image and sound quality plus details on what the DVD’s extras are. The beauty of it all is that the reviews are not too complicated or sophisticated, but just what the average moviegoer can comment on any movie, with some extra background information presented in a simple grading system (A, B, C, etc). What’s also very cool about this site is that they review all kinds of movies and not any particular genre or style, so that it works as a reliable source of opinion on what’s on the movies, as opposed to other sites which will only present praise for movies everyone likes or, alternatively, nobody knows. Worthy of note is the section on international and documentary movies, which will definitely be enlightening if you want to learn about these areas of interest, as most of the other consumer review sites tend to overlook non-mainstream movies.
