Founded in 1975, Cruise Lines International Association stands as the largest cruise association in the world. It is conformed by 23 of the major cruise lines that operate in North America.
Its aim is to promote and advance the cruise industry, by ensuring safe and healthy cruise ship environments, and by training its travel agent members. The travel agency community is fully supported by CLIA by virtue of training programs which include courses and exams, as well as cruise conferences and training videos. Likewise, there is an Executive Partner Program that furthers cooperation and alliances between cruise lines and strategic industry suppliers. Besides containing all the facts about CLIA, the website comes complete with all the information necessary to plan a vacation. This includes a full list of available cruise lines and ships; and there is a “Cruise Finder” option that lets the user conduct a search both by destination and by cruise lines. A list of travel agents is also featured.
