Cleener is an anti-piracy filter that both public and private companies can implement in order to ensure that their employees will not download anything that they shouldn’t when they are supposed to be working. Something like this is important for two reasons.
In first place, it ensures that employees won’t get distracted looking for a copy of the newest movie starring Kate Beckinsale, or the most recent episode of “Glee”. And in second place (and perhaps more importantly), limiting the access that employees have to pirated content is the same as reducing the chances of computers becoming infected with viruses.
The way Cleener works is by cross-referencing the URLs that your employees want to access with the ones contained in Cleener’s own list of illegal links, torrents and files.
Cleener is available for free, and the filter is provided through a simple API that can actually be used from a wide rang of programming languages. A sample script is in fact provided on the site, and you can take it as it is or proceed to adapt it to your company’s actual needs.

Why Cleener.org It Might Be A Killer
