Problem the startup solves:
In the late 2010’s our founder, Lene Elisabeth Eide, was introduced to menstrual cups for the first time. She liked the experience but wanted a better, more comfortable option and alternative.
CleanCup is the answer: Based on feedback from 1,600 menstruates to perfect the prototype, it was re-designed with comfort and ease of use in mind. Its angled shape is a one-of-a-kind design made to form to each woman’s unique body type. In addition, when cared for properly, it can take the place of hundred of tampons and pads and reduce waste. Plus, the company gives back to menstruators in need, donating CleanCups so everyone can have equal access to period care.
Progress and Current Status:
We launched a week ago and have 40 backers, and are 10% funded. We, of course, want to add more backers and spread the word to fund our project and start production on the newly improved product.
What is an Inspiring Story about the Startup?:
We are all about period access at CleanCup. One of our Kickstarter options includes a cup for users, and one donated to a menstruator in need, so they can continue their lives normally, even on their period. In some places in the world, girls aren’t allowed to go to school if they’re on their periods! We’re hoping to change that one sale and donation at a time.
What is a Company the Startup Looks Up to, and Why?:
We look up Women’s Voices for the Earth, a non-profit that happens to focus on menstrual equality. At the heart of our mission is to increase the ease of accessibility for period products for women and girls everywhere, and to do it with a product that is easy and comfortable to use. Aligning with organizations that share our goal lifts us all up and moves us closer to this goal.

We will be helping women around the world have an easier period! We believe that your period should not slow you down and believe that menstruates everywhere should have access to quality period care products. As our company gives back to those in need, we can accomplish this by continuing to spread the word and help women continue their lives…. and with the newly designed CleanCup, you’ll even forget you’re on your period.
