City Rumors is first and foremost a novelty service. Basically, its users are enabled to share all the latest rumors that are going round their hometowns. They catch wind of them, they publish them on the site, everybody reads them. It is as easy as that.
Rumors are categorized geographically. People can see what is happening in the cities they live in, or any city that interests them for any reason or the other (such as having significant others living there). And rumors can likewise be looked up by venue.
It is obvious that this service is still in its earliest formative stages. It would be nice if more filters and/or refinement options were added. For example, it would be great if you had a way to measure the prevalent mood in any city based on what is being rumored there. Or which rumors are common in several cities at the same time. Even then, it is difficult to think of this service ever causing a sensation. It will be slightly more appealing. But it will still be nothing to write home about.
