Champion Sound is a browser based email application that lets musicians (or really, anyone involved in the music industry) to better stay in touch with their fans. Once you sign up for an account, you’ll be able to compose emails as you normally would (called “blasts”).
You can manage your distribution lists and select when and to whom you want your blasts sent. A blast might be a CD release announcement, a change in a concert venue, etc. You can create your own blast from scratch, or use one of Champion Sound’s templates. When it comes to managing your contacts, Champion Sound lets you upload contact info from spreadsheets, or you can simply cut and paste email addresses. Champion Sound is currently running in private beta, so if you’re interested, you’ll have to sign up to get on the waiting list.

I’m not sure if Champion Sound offers enough extra features to be preferable to a system like Evite, or even your regular email client; the only thing that really stands out here is the template tool.
