Though the specialized media has targeted ADD as an overdiagnosed and bogus condition, truth remains that Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders do exist and some people suffer a lot without adequate help and support. If you have this condition, or know of someone who does, this site is a good place to learn more about this problem, and find help to get it under control.
Chadd.org is a national non-profit organization, and hosts a variety of brief and easy-to-understand texts and features both in Spanish and English about ADD which target the general audience; this site is also a good way to quickly learn about what the government and health system/insurance companies are (and aren’t) doing in regard to these disorders. The site is very nicely designed and is easy to use too, as the information is displayed in categories designed to reach out to parents, adults, children, professionals and other specialized groups. You can also join the association by donating a small amount, which will gain you access to the community areas where you can meet other people struggling with this condition to get support and advice, plus news on medication, or read the medical and legal documents that have been collected by the group of members; you can read the ‘New to AD/HD’ forum without becoming a member, but note that you won’t be able to make postings on the boards.
