At the time of writing this, the US is wading through a time of economic hardship at the end of Barack Obama’s first presidential period. Unemployment is a sad reality for people in every corner of America.
The founder of Careerful.net found herself there when her husband became unemployed, as she tells us in this site. And so she thought of creating a resource that other people in the same situation could turn to in order to get support and assistance.
It appears that she has succeeded, or that she has come quite close to succeeding at least. Careerful.net has a simple design with all the necessary advice on what to do if you are unemployed at this moment.
Careerful.net has three major sections that go straight to the point “Find a job”, “Start a business” and “Get inspired”.
All of them are greatly informative, but I must say that the name of the “Find a job” section falls short. Besides giving you information on online job boards of every kind, the section is full on “what to do’s” when you lose your job. How to take in the sad news, how to work out a budget and how to claim the medical insurances which you are entitled to are some of these. And they clearly show you how everything’s part of something bigger, and how getting a new job is possible only when you assess where you are after having become unemployed.
