Campus Talk is a social site that keeps the original flame of Facebook well alive. I am sure than more people than ever know that Facebook originated as a network for students, for the simple reason that “The Social Network” is now coming to theaters, and the movie has been dominating conversations for some time.
Even those who have always used Facebook more casually know how it all started now. And they also know why and when it opened up to a wider public.
That left a gap that other social sites such as this one try to fill. Campus Talk is exactly like Facebook in its origins – the network can be joined and used solely by students who prove who they are via their email addresses, and once they are in they can proceed to socialize with classmates as they would on Facebook. But without the risks of mum and dad stumbling upon the pictures of last night’s party.
And Campus Talk makes for serious and productive uses too, of course. Students can collaborate among themselves, find study partners and discuss in which ways their campuses could be improved.
