The Campaign for Real Beauty is a worldwide marketing campaign created in partnership with marketing and communications agencies on behalf of Dove. The principle behind the campaign is to celebrate the natural physical variation embodied by all women and inspire them to have the confidence to be comfortable with themselves.
The launch campaign featured normal women of different shapes and sizes, recruited in a number of ways and was shot by the British portrait/fashion photographer Rankin. The web site www.campaignforrealbeauty.com is a country by country guide to how the company has used this campaign, not only to advertise its products, but also to help raise the self esteem of women everywhere. From within the pages of the web site you can download a short movie about the campaign as well as share your views on not only the movie, but body image, getting older and unconventional looks.
