There’s been quite a lot of rave in the publishing scene over the last couple of weeks ever since Harper Collins, a huge publishing corporation, has decided to upload whole chapters of some of its books to its site, and to allow users to read them for free. Traditional publishing has feared for its future ever since the internet become massive, and one of the many answers as to what will happen to it are still to be set; in the meanwhile, small companies like North Carolina’s BYG Publishing are implementing different ways of giving exposure to their collections.
This company in particular has been practicing free distribution of some chapters of its publications for some time, and in their site, users will be able to find links to author’s webs and selected material as well, plus links to reviews and further material on their titles. Unfortunately, there is not much information on the business in itself, and not even manuscript submission instructions, which is something that all the other publishers seem to be doing in their sites.
