Today’s Killer Startup: Blockhead by Ten One Design

Elevator Pitch
Blockhead is a “side-facing plug for Apple chargers.”
Why We Love It
For a company that cares so much about design, Apple sure has messed up with a few things. In particular, can we talk about the charger cable?? I’ve frayed more wires than I can count with their winding system, and the frustration of trying to get the plug to stay plugged into the wall when you’re using the two-pronged one is enough to make any digital nomad want to throw the whole machine out the window. (Don’t do it though! It’s expensive and you need it, friend. Just take a deeeeeeep breath.)
Anyway, now that we’ve all calmed down a bit, let’s take a look at why Blockhead is awesome. It’s a very simple design, which kind of makes me wonder why Apple hasn’t done this already. (I have like a million conspiracy theories around Apple’s design flaws, but we don’t need to get into that here.) All it does is take the two-prong plug and move it over to the side, so that the bulky charging part lies flat against the wall. I know, I know — it sounds like NBD, but it’s actually really awesome.
Anyone who has an Apple computer knows just how annoying it is to have that boxy thing sticking out the way it does. You bump into it; it falls out. You shift your computer; it falls out. You plug it into a slightly sketchy outlet (look, I live in Vietnam, this is reality); it sparks and falls out. Blockhead solves this problem so simply that it’s a total “duh!” moment when you see it.
So, if you’re like me and you’re getting ready to throw that overpriced, poorly designed charger cable out the window, stop yourself and head over to Blockhead to buy your own adaptor adaptor today, in order to receive it in late April/early May.

Why is the Apple charger SO BADLY DESIGNED?? Blockhead from @TenOneDesign fixes it.
