Blippy.com – Giving Shopping A Social Twist

Blippy.comBlippy is a platform that aims to introduce a social twist into shopping by letting people share their favorite purchases from online retailers like Amazon, iTunes, Woot and Zappos to name but four. Such a process is a wholly automatic one.

That is, there is a little input on the buyer, but it is certainly minimal and definitely something that is not getting on anybody’s nerves.

When visiting the site, you will think a lot of Twitter if only because there is a public timeline that will show you the items that people are buying right now, and I also linked the Blippy logo itself to that of the San Francisco startup. I mean, it is not a copy or anything like that, it just made me think of Twitter’s own logo the second I saw it. Maybe you will think of something else when you see it.

Anyway, each and every update comes complete with vital information such as the frequency of purchases of that customer at that specific retailer. For example, you can see if the customer is a returning one or if it is his first time at the store. It is a small thing for sure, but one that might let you have a better appreciation of the way the person shops, and how much you can trust his perception on the whole.
