California based BiggestMenu is a new site dedicated to food photos. The premise: users snap photos of what they’re eating, or perhaps of things they’d like to eat, and they share it with the BiggestMenu community, who in turn, can use the photos as inspiration or to find where the best food in their area is.
Menu members each get their own profile spaces filled with delicious tidbits about what they like or do not like to eat, and with whom, as well as all their posted photos, and their fellow BiggestMenu friends. The site mainly covers locales in California, although a few other cities are thrown in. Other features include tags, maps, comments, maps, and contests.
BiggestMenu.com In Their Own Words
“BiggestMenu is a community for you and your friends to share pictures of your favorite foods.”
Why BiggestMenu.com It Might Be A Killer
BiggestMenu differs from other sites in its strictly food basis. While other sites focus on restaurants and reviews, Biggest is all about the chow. It’s useful as a food diary, and it’s also interesting to see what other people are eating.
Some Questions About BiggestMenu.com
The site is a tad overloaded. The tag clouds and extraneous text pulls away from the photos which should be the main focus. Is a redesign in the works? Will the site expand beyond California? Is there enough on the site to maintain visitor interest?
