The Daily News is a daily newspaper covering local news, sports, entertainment, traffic, weather, shopping and personals for the Bowling Green area in Kentucky. Though the site could definitely use a new design job, the information is easily accessible and comfortable to read (they allow users to increase the font size, a thing all written media should, but unfortunately don’t do).
Though readers of the online version of the paper get access to only highlights of the print version, they do get lots of multimedia specials, like videos and image slideshows. I was thrilled to discover that the site carries a page where local bloggers get listed, with links to their pages, which I reckon is a great idea to spread the word on what people are talking about in the same area of the country, and also gain visibility for those blogs; if you live in south Kentucky and want to get listed, just mail them in with your details (note that MySpace blogs are not accepted). Special sections that the paper publishes as supplements, including lifestyle and real estate magazines cannot be viewed online in ePaper format, but get an independent website where readers can view selected articles and features.
