Introduced as “the better way to manage employee perks”, BetterWork.com enables bosses to reward and incentivize their workforces like never before. BetterWorks lets small business owners give their employees access to the kind of services and memberships that (until now) were available to first rate companies only. Memberships to gyms, massive discounts at salons… these are the benefits that only people who work at companies of the caliber of Facebook and Google have always been fortunate-enough to enjoy. And BetterWork aims to bring that to the masses. It has partnered with lots of different establishments and companies already, to make these perks widely available once and for all.
The effect something like this can have in the industry might as well be felt massively. Incentives like these are often what make job seekers go for this or that company in the long run.
And the service is enhanced to no end by making specific perks available when certain tasks are satisfactorily dealt with, such as answering an e-mail or completing a report. This gamification element is really novel and effective. But it isn’t at all surprising when one learns that Sizhao Yang (co-creator of Farmville) has co-founded BetterWorks.
