Back Noise is a system that will enable people who are attending any speech or conference become an integral part of it, and make their voices be heard without actually interrupting the one who is speaking.
This is accomplished by the creation of a backchannel that lets the ones who are in the audience talk among themselves in real time, while the person who is in charge of the dissertation that you are attending is doing his remarks.
A backchannel can be joined by an unlimited number of people (who can choose to remain anonymous if that is what they want), and conversations are leaderless. That is, anybody can use a provided “buzzkill” button to wipe the conversation clean and create a blank screen to be filled again by participants.
Back Noise is a free tool. You can create and join conversations at no cost. But you must bear in mind that active conversations are not searchable yet. In order to join one you must know its name. Otherwise, there is no way that you could become involved.
