Aza.org – Animal Care

Aza.orgAza.org is the website for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in North America.

Since 1924, the AZA organization dedicates to the improvement of animal care and wildlife preservation. AZA only accredits those institutions that achieve rigorous standards of animal care, education, wildlife preservation, and science. In order to receive the AZA accreditation, the Institution must go through six-month of rigorous examination by AZA’s team of experts. These people will: examine the animals, evaluate veterinary care, animal safety, animal security, the Institutes finance, the staff, and more. The AZA accreditation has to be renewed every five years. Moreover, AZA is interested in educating people about protecting endangered species and wildlife habitat. They also promote recycling and energy conservation. Education concerning this subject matter is very important because it makes you aware of what’s going on with our planet, and how we can help make a difference. Over 8,000 Zoos and Aquariums are members of AZA. In this website you’ll find all the information you need in order to become a member. Aza.org
