AtomicArchive.com is a site aimed for the general public presenting extensive information on the atomic bomb, its invention, the historical background associated with it, the science details, and other informative and educational resources which will be of great use for teachers and science students.
The information available from the site is in text-format, and there is also a very extensive photo, image and map gallery, some videos as well as animations illustrating some of the basic elements of nuclear theory, like fusion or chain reaction. If you are more inclined to studying history and aren’t bothered much by the physics of the atomic bomb, this site will also be very interesting, as it presents both lengthy and brief histories of the different periods of the Cold War, biographies on the most relevant politicians and scientists involved with the nuclear projects, and even a glossary of scientific terms just in case you need them. For those of you who found this site interesting and want to go on reading, the site presents reproductions of the original documents of the Cold War era in PDF format plus book reviews and links to relevant sites.
