Yasuke, on the other hand, offers a different approach. He is built for loud lethality and can take down enemies from a distance with a powerful bow. However, his loud assassinations require careful consideration to avoid drawing too much attention.

Assassins rely on strategy
The game presents a mastery of the classic Assassin’s Creed flow state. There is an almost meditative quality to hopping from objective to objective through the countryside of Japan.
Players can stumble upon castles where they are tasked with assassinating high-level enemies in exchange for rare armor or bandit camps replete with resources necessary for their journey. In addition to the main storyline, Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a variety of activities, such as platforming gauntlets called Hidden Trails, puzzle dungeons called Temples, and rhythm-based minigames called Dragon Dances. The game strikes an ideal balance between expansive content and focused gameplay.
Players who have finished Shadows report that it took them around 60-70 hours to complete the main storyline, or something closer to twice that for a completionist run. Assassin’s Creed Shadows emphasizes clean, thoughtful assassinations, making players rely on strategy and planning. The rewarding gameplay loop of strategizing and executing plans keeps the tension high and the experience immersive.
The game has been well-received by players, with many sharing their epic moments using the hashtags #PSshare and #PSBlog on social media. Standout submissions include images of Naoe dressed in traditional Assassin white, Yasuke wielding his katana in the rain, and the stunning landscapes of Japan’s diverse environments.
