Asian-Nation is an information resource of the diverse Asian-American community. The site features historical, demographic, political and cultural issues that make up this community.
This minority group is one of the largest growing ones in the United States although they currently make up about 5% of the population. The site’s purpose is to educate anyone who would like to know more about the Asian American population, provide information about different topics and issues that affect the community, and identify other sources of information related to this ethnic group. This community, made up of anyone living in the US who has Asian or Pacific Islander background, whether born or not in the US, has been misunderstood and scrutinized for a long time and it is time that people learn about the diverse culture of this group of people and begin to understand what makes them who they are. As with many cultures, there are stereotypes that continue to affect Asian Americans, the site aims to dissipate these common beliefs by providing news, articles, links, and more.
