Art54.com is a fairly simplistic website. They do not offer any services; instead, they provide information about famous artists to whoever wants to learn more about art history. Andy Warhol, M.C. Escher, Claude Monet, Michelangelo, Salvador Dali, and many more artists are listed on the front page of the website. There are over fifty from which to choose, and this also includes a few famous photographers thrown in for good measure.
Once a user has found an artist he wishes to explore, all he has to do is click on the front page link. From there, the site describes the specifics behind the person. Art54.com explains where the artist was born, what type of paintings they specialized in (e.g. landscape, post-modern, realist, etc.), and their life history as far as it is known. There are some interesting facts thrown in for entertainment here and there; things that even experienced people might not know about the artist.
On each page, there are paintings displayed alongside the aforementioned information. If a person wants, he can open the image that Art54.com hosts on their website and use it for his own personal reasons. They are generally large enough to be used in presentations, but they also can functions as backgrounds or wallpapers for a computer desktop.
Lastly, below the list of paintings, Art54.com displays other artists who have similar styles or life stories as the original one that the user decided to learn more about. As a result, Art54 strengthens the user’s knowledge about similar types of artists.
