RUWT? works by using their patented bot to scan the internet for game statisctics that might indicate history in the making (for example, a highly-ranked team about to be upset, bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with a full count, etc). When the bot (appropriately dubbed the RUWTbot) finds an exciting game, it submits a “root”. The more roots the bot submits, the higher the chances are that the given game will take a turn for the historical. RUWT? then analyzes these votes and categorizes games into levels of intensity (guarded, elevated, high, and severe).
