Founded in 1997, by Paul Petrunia, www.archinect.com has editorials by industry professionals and architecture students on subjects such as architecture (obviously) but also urban planning, sustainability, film/video and photography as well as profiles of prominent and up and coming architects.

Archinect.com has an employment section which contains a national listing of employment opportunities within the related fields, a forum for potential candidates to register as available for work and a list of employers who are currently actively seeking qualified candidates for work. This is a great way for anyone job hunting to really get a handle on the current state of the job market.

Networking is important in all industries, and archinect.com gives you a chance to do just that within their community section. Register as a professional and you can connect with other professionals in your chosen field. Check out the blogs and forums for current discussions/ideas. You can even upload a current project for comment or discussion via the Work Updates section.

If you are thinking about a career in architecture, the academia section lists and links to accredited architecture schools, all over the world. More information on individual programs can be found in the school blogs section . Again check out the academia forum for specific information.
