Aps.org – For Those Who Love Physics APS will be a Delight

The American Physical Society or APS has provided this website for physics awareness for students, teachers, physics enthusiasts and librarians. Also, the policy makers and the media are kept in mind with articles, announcements and scientific information. At aps.org you can read about the activities of this Society, learn of careers in physics, take out a membership and support them just by making yourself aware of what they have to say.

When you choose to become a member of this Society you will increase the power the organization has in Washington D.C. as the larger the membership the more important they become in the eyes of government officials. You can join directly from aps.org and as a member you will have access to important research articles or Physical Review Journals as they will be available for purchase to you. If you are a student you are eligible for a free trial membership if you are enrolled in a program of study within the fields of physics, engineering or a related science. The trial is good for one year’s duration.

At aps.org you can keep up to the minute on the times, dates and locations of the organization’s meetings. Conducted in major cities across the United States these meetings present research, host workshops, allow for scientific discussion and draw thousands of journalists and scientists from everywhere even attendees from foreign nations. Special events may be stationed in other countries as in the annual European Conference on Composite Material which will be held in June of 2012 in Venice, Italy.

There is a list of advocacy tools for visitors to the website. The list explains things like how to send messages to Congress members, what goes into lobbying, and, how to organize Congressional visits, or, how to write letters to Congress asking for support for scientific research.
