Apple has announced that Apple Intelligence features are now available on iOS 18.1 beta. Although the iPhone 16 series is designed for Apple Intelligence, these devices do not ship with Apple’s AI out-of-the-box. Instead, this update will be introduced through a future software update.
For those who are eager to experience Apple Intelligence but hesitant to install the buggy developer beta, the iOS 18.1 update is now available as a public beta. This version is typically more stable compared to the developer beta, though it might still contain some bugs or glitches.

However, it is much closer to the stable build expected to release in the coming weeks. By installing the iOS 18.1 public beta on eligible devices, including the iPhone 16 series or iPhone 15 Pro series, users can access new features such as enhanced Siri, writing tools, on-device image generation capabilities, and more ahead of the official release. To install the iOS 18.1 public beta on your iPhone, navigate to:
Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, and enable the iOS 18 public beta.
It is important to ensure you are signed up for the iOS beta program using the Apple ID linked to the iPhone. Apple Intelligence is also available for eligible Macs and iPads, powered by an M series chip, through the iPadOS 18.1 public beta and macOS 15.1 public beta.
