ApnaSpace is the Desi Myspace. Desi, of course, for those staring wide eyed at the unfamiliar term, is a catchall word mainly applied to South Asians(i.
e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) living abroad or in some way distanced from their home cultures. The site has got all the networking requisites: customizable profiles, music, video, chat, forums, and pics. The site also has quizzes, virtual money earning opportunities, webcam and cellphone uploads, and video chatrooms. Desi’s also got poetry, games, and photo battles. It’s epic, it’s irreverent, it’s fun. This is the place to be for the young, the hip, and the continuously frontier bound. Desis unite!
ApnaSpace.com In Their Own Words
“The idea of ApnaSpace was born sometime in March of 2005, when Haydur (h2d2) was already getting bored with his latest project, BollyCat.com. Oh, and Rehan was involved in it too. Being an ABCD (that’s American Born Confident Desi) he knows more about the RateDesi scene than Haydur.
ApnaSpace is not the first of it’s kind. Neither is it the last. There are hundreds of Desi mini-portals featuring everything from Bollywood news to cellphone ringtones for Nokia cellphone models from 1997. We don’t offer all that, but we do offer a quality social network with a featureset big enough to keep you busy for hours and easy enough not to take hours to learn.”
Why ApnaSpace.com It Might Be A Killer
There’s a huge niche market here. This site has got it all. The Desi market is under represented, but ApnaSpace is changing that. It’s got activities to keep the crowd coming back.
