Protecting the overall good health of all Americans is the mission of the American Public Health Association, found online at apha.org. APHA is the umbrella organization for public health professionals, and has been since 1872. It works to save people and communities from preventable serious health threats, provide community-based promotion services, and make preventative services available to all.

APHA houses a significant number of publications on the site and offers them for sale through their online store. As the headquarters site for the organization, APHA.org allows members to log in and see minutes from recent national and state meetings, sign up for upcoming events and programs, and take part in ongoing training both live and online.
