Apex Legends is gearing up for the winter season with the return of the Winter’s Haunt event. Players can dive into the action-packed Winter Express Limited Time Mode, where three squads battle aboard a moving train. The goal is to secure the train or eliminate the opposition when it stops at a station to score points.

Throughout the event, players can earn Ice Gems by completing daily challenges. These can be used to unlock a variety of cosmetics, including Epic skins for Valkyrie and the Triple Take. There are 30 event-exclusive items to collect, such as Bloodhound’s Heirloom “Winter’s Bane” and the reactive Hemlok skin “Attunement.”

Players reaching certain milestones will also earn Apex Packs and 150 Heirloom Shards. The event features significant gameplay updates as well. Lifeline’s D.O.C. Halo, now, has an increased cooldown and returns to baseline revive speed.

Newcastle’s Revive Shield and Mobile Shield have adjusted their health values and increased cooldown times. The EPG-1 launcher also joins the game, offering splash damage and rocket-jumping capabilities.

Winter Express gameplay returns

The development team actively addresses community-reported bugs to ensure a smoother gaming experience. Updates focus on improving shader loading times and addressing issues with Akimbo Weapon Mastery XP generation and Level 39 rewards in the Welcome Pass. Apex Legends is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the EA app, Epic, and Steam.

Players can stay connected with the latest updates by following Apex Legends on social media and subscribing to their newsletter. The Winter’s Haunt event is set to begin on December 17th, 2024 and will likely extend into the new year. Players can look forward to the return of the popular Winter Express mode, exclusive cosmetics, and the ability to collect Ice Gems by completing daily challenges.

To get the Winter’s Bane Heirloom for Bloodhound, players have to collect all 30 cosmetics from the event. This can be done by purchasing Winter’s Haunt Apex Packs, which offer random items. After the event is over, players will be able to purchase the Heirloom with shards.

While the Winter’s Bane Heirloom is a sought-after item, players who don’t use Bloodhound may not want to put in the effort to get it. However, the Winter’s Haunt event will have plenty of other cosmetics to earn through gameplay.
