This site is the official site of Amnesty International, an activist organization with nearly 1.8 million members worldwide and that has won a Nobel Prize.
They fight for the human rights, for the women rights, against the death penalty and for many other noble causes. The homepage presents some of the most urgent cases to be treated, and below the successes Amnesty International (AI) has had, together with the upcoming events. Also we can observe a column on the right hand where when selecting an issue (i.e.: torture, health, children) and a country, all the news concerning that specified issue in that country are shown. In addition to this, the visitor to this site is presented with six different ways in which anyone can make a difference and help save lives. The website is very well designed, as well as user friendly and nicely laid out. The main menu is divided in 4 sections, one speaks about this organization; its purposes, their successes, how to contact them. Another one exposes the issues that are currently being dealt with while the third one explains different ways in which we can help. Last but not least the fourth section has the latest news and reports related to the mission of AI. There is a blog where one can post a subject and anyone can join and post their own comments.
