Altoona and Bon Secours-Holy family hospitals, along with many health system-affiliated companies joined together to form this system on November 1, 2004. AltoonaRegional is a charitable and non-profit system governed by a volunteer community board of directors. The hospital is licensed for a combined 380 beds. They offer more than 200 years of health care experience, over 300 talented and highly recognized physicians, nearly 4,000 specialized and experienced caregivers, and 600 supportive volunteers. They serve more than 20 counties throughout Central Pennsylvania. The vision of AltoonaRegional is to be a world-class organization. They respect the cultures, beliefs and needs of those they serve. They also have an ER along with Sleep Medicine, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and a Primary Stroke Center. The Would Care and Ostomy Program and that for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are also important to the hospital.
