AllWorship.com is the home of commercial-free Christian music. AllWorship is a non-profit radio station exclusively on the Internet that provides commercial-free worship in three formats: contemporary, praise and Spanish. Christians in faraway countries, specifically missionaries, who don’t have access to a church, are now able to listen to Christian worship online and all for free! The AllWorship ministry picks up the tab for all programming, streaming and fees.
AllWorship.com first aired in February 2004 over the Internet. It was an idea that came after the closing of an Alabama FM station. It was called Reality 101 (WRRS) that aired in Birmingham and played contemporary Christian music. It began in November 1998 and captured thousands of listeners throughout the state. Reality 101 had a loyal following and was a leader in the Christian radio industry however they were not owned by a large corporation. A group of individuals had put up their own personal finances and businesses to fund the station’s ministry. It soon became hard to compete as a stand-alone. The station was sold in September 2000 and instead of being promised that it would stay the same, the new owners changed the formats and lost their listeners.
Several of the employees and board members from the old station came together in 2003 to talk about their wonderful experiences with the radio station and about its powerful impact. They then started to wonder if they would get the same type of reaction through the Internet. AllWorship.com was then born. The people running the show are doing so out of the kindness of their heart and therefore are not being paid. They remain a ministry with the same mission as before: to strengthen a believer’s walk by providing them the opportunity to listen to great worship and to lead people to God through the power of music. If profits are ever made, they will be donated to other Christian ministries.
