There is nothing like a new band, if only because new bands are driven by a fire and idealism that sets them instantly apart from those artists that have already consolidated themselves. Also, the feeling a fan has when his “local” band – IE, people who might even be in his same class and that he has known all his life – makes it big at last is incredibly gratifying.
It’s almost as if a family member had won the jackpot, or (to use a music-related image) been the recipient of the Wurlitzer prize.
This blog (which was started in November 2004) provides comprehensive coverage on that kind of bands – the ones that are emerging, and that have just released their first album, or which are about to do so. Interviews are prominently featured, and so is comprehensive information about upcoming gigs. On the whole, if you want to stay updated on all these bands that might turn to be the next sensation checking this weblog out is a sound idea indeed.
