Alfred University is the second oldest co-educational college in the United States, and one of the earliest nineteenth century colleges to have enrolled African American and Native American students. Over the course of the twentieth century, Alfred University evolved into a complex institution offering a full range of programs in the liberal arts and sciences, art and design, engineering, business, education, and school psychology.
With small class sized, friendly and accessible professors, and an emphasis on undergraduate research, they believe that their students are their greatest assets. Whatever your passions, whatever your interests, at Alfred University they give you opportunities to succeed in many ways. You can produce a concert, join a team, act in a play, write for the newspaper, host a radio show, and even start your own clubs.
