Akonter is a social bookmarking website that offers absolutely no improvements over other resources that let you do the same. Users of this service are allowed to share these pieces of news that they find on the Internet with every single person who is also using the site. They can have them shared on the site, and upon doing so everybody else can comment on them, and (if he likes what he has read) proceed to have such link shared with all his own contacts. Much like sites like Digg and Delicious, the idea here is to let people spread the news in the most social way of all. Which is exactly what a trillion other sites let you do already, really.
And Akonter is not really appealing from a design point of view, with green menus and buttons that look completely uninviting.
The release of sites like this one is justified to some extent when one bears in mind that the day Digg fell from grace (thanks to a clueless redesign) an enormous gap was left in the social sharing scene. It is natural that some will try to fill that vacant space. But something which looks as generic as this site is never really going to do.

Why Akonter.com It Might Be A Killer
Sad as it is, I am unable to think of a reason why this site could be marginally successful.
