Abridge raises $150 million to boost generative AI in healthcare

Abridge’s generative AI transcribes patient-doctor interactions and documents the visits in electronic health records.

The company raised a $150 million Series C round in February to enhance its technology and assist clinicians with administrative tasks amidst a healthcare labor crisis. Abridge’s partnership with EHR giant Epic could bolster its presence in hospitals.

“Abridge has a lot of the necessary ingredients (capital, early commercial traction, strong ecosystem partners, high caliber team) to support provider workflows and help improve communication with patients,” said Marisa Bass of Primary Venture Partners. Air Space Intelligence provides an AI-powered operating system for aerospace and defense to optimize air operations with data-driven decisions. The platform is already a market leader, working with major US carriers.

It is also making progress with larger deployments for the Department of Defense (DoD), opening a US-based engineering hub, and expanding its team. AliveCor helps people manage their heart health remotely with devices like personal electrocardiograms (ECGs). The company recently launched an FDA-approved AI capable of detecting 35 cardiac conditions, including heart attacks.

This AI is powered by a new, compact ECG device, enabling rapid decision-making in various healthcare settings. Braintrust provides infrastructure for developing enterprise AI products, offering support in evaluations, logging, data management, and prompting. It also grants access to top AI models via an API.

Abridge enhances healthcare documentation efficiency

Braintrust is crucial for leading tech companies like Zapier, Coda, Airtable, and Instacart, boosting AI accuracy by over 30%. The rapid product development and widespread adoption by the AI community underscore its impact.
